Echofon Lite for Twitter App Reviews

Good but

it doesnt support RTL in Arabic.. which is bad because it make you dont understand the sentences.

Pretty good!

Its a pretty good twitter client, very simple to use and love the sync feature. To make this 5 stars I would love to have fullscreen mode. If you just take the way the ipad app looks and blow it up for the mac, would look great! Also would be nice to see a localized trending topic.

Awesome.

Way better than the official Twitter.app.

Now it is better twitter client for Mac

But $10 for AD its too much :(

supports lists.

I was looking for a clean simple twitter app that supported lists. this was exactly what I wanted. The free version has an ad at the top which I dont mind at all.

Need lots of Improvements

The idea behind it is great! Need LOTS of improvements tho. The interface is not good. The reason why I tried this app is because I wanted a Twitter app that can expend any tweet, which is not offered here. Deleted the app

I want a "home" function

why not support "command + up" to back to the top. Its the most basic function for an app is efficient.

Love it!!

Love this app, just wish i didnt have to type the usernames in, wish it had an autocomplete

Great App!

I really love the instant update .. You dont have to sweep then release to see the update .. very very nice

VOiceover users: do not try

Totally unusable with Voiceover. Buttons are unlabeled, and the list of tweets is not spoken by Voiceover, unless one interacts with the scroll area manually, stops interacting, hits down arrow, then interacts once again. After using the iOS version of htis app and liking it, Im shocked and disappointed accessibility with Voiceover wasnt a huge concern when developing the Mac version. Please make simple design changes to add labeled elements, and fix the scroll bug so Voiceover can speak the text of each tweet, and youll have a 5-star app.

Mountain lion issue?

The autocomletion feature stop working!!!

Missing a few things

I like the app for the most part but I do wish that it had autocomplete so that it is easier to ensure I am typing in usernames write. I find myself having to go to the twitter website, which is kind of what I wanted echofon to help me avoid. Having a way to view trneding topics would also be nice. Perhaps after some updates I will increase my rating!

Connect tab?

Is there any reason that none of the Twitter apps for Mac have the full connect tab? It only lists mentions. Theres no notification of getting favorited, retweeted, or even new followers. There is literally no reason not to include all the information typically under the connect tab. Dont bother with this half-completed app.

Great App!!

Great app, but like the previous poster said... I just wish it would autocomplete the usersname when I want to tweet someone

The best, but that does not mean much

This free version of Echofon is definitely the best Twitter client on the Mac as of this review. It supports the most third party services, does so inline most of the time, and has some nice, deep features. Multiple account access is, at least.. there. That said, Tweetbot is coming. And Mountain Lion has already launched, with nary an update from Naan studios to either this free version or their paid version. Insertion of the current Safari page remains broken since 10.8/Safari 6. Echofon still doesnt have a true conversation view (you can follow a few back-and-forth posts if you happen to catch one of the replies, often not all of the posts, but you cant do the same using the first post as a starting point). Theres no indication of being favorited, re-tweeted, anything. The light gray design is looking a little old, but thats not a big deal. The worst design flaw of Echofon is that creating a new tweet or switching accounts is relegated to 36 pixels at the VERY BOTTOM of the window. Can anything be more awkward? In fact, yes. Try to pop up that menu to switch accounts, or just to check for notifications on those accounts. Half the time, the menu wont draw completely upwards, but will draw half-up, and half-blocked by the bottom edge of your display. You then must jiggle the cursor to get the menu to scroll up and display completely. How is this good design, ever? Bottom line: Right now, get the free version. Or if you prefer the best monitoring of multiple accounts, stick with the now-dead official app from Twitter. With Naans lack of recent updates, theres no way Id spring for their paid version. Then give Tweetbot a look when it comes out (though Im hoping they add a few more keyboard shortcuts for those of us who dont swipe-swipe-swipe all day, you know, because this is a computer and not an iPad).

Nothing special

I dont see how this beats out other free or less expensive Twitter clients and I cant even begin to fathom paying $10 for the non-ad version. Try Osfoora before investing in this. Even the newly redesigned Twitter app is better.

HORRIBLE

Dont waste your time. This app is trash and Im sure the paid version is just as bad. That stupid sponsored tweet just sits right at the top of your timeline and you cant do anything about it but look at it and get annoyed even more. I will never find a decent Tweetbot replacement =(

Back from the dead

Stumbled on this stealth update and Im giving it five stars just for existing. When API 1.1 took effect and Echofon no longer worked properly, my Twitter usage went way down. That may have been good for me, but I didnt like it. Theres no acknowledgement of a policy change regarding Mac client support on the Naan website or mention on Twitter of an update, but here it is. Thank you.

The best of the best

This application saved my life. Very full support of Twitter API features, simple design, very fast. A+, would tweet again.

Glad they brought it back to life

thought they were discontinuing for mac?
